The challenge takes place in the Lake District National Park.
The route is 17 miles across the most rugged and spectacular mountains in the country, taking in 10 major peaks on this non-stop trek.
Along the way you will summit some of the Lake’s classics such as Scafell Pike (England’s highest mountain), Great Gable and Bow Fell.
The aim is to complete the route in one go in as fast a time as possible, typically between 12 – 17 hours. This is at a moderate pace and is achievable by a group with a reasonable level of fitness without having to run!
Typically teams stay in or near Keswick for the night before and after the challenge. There are various types of accommodation available from bunk house / hostel – 5 star hotels in and around the town. We collect you from your accommodation and transport you to the start, it is always good to be away early and we encourage teams to start by 8 am at the latest. Our mountain leaders are with you throughout the event, guiding and supporting you all the way. All of our staff have excellent local knowledge being based in the area themselves. The route does vary a little depending on the particular leader as they all think they know the best / quickest way! Our support vehicle is also on hand in case it is needed and carries spare clothing, food and equipment. It will be there to transport you back to Keswick after the challenge is complete and can also be used if anyone needs to drop out along the way.
