Attempting to summit Scafell Pike, Helvellyn and Skiddaw in the Lake District National Park in 12 hours or less.
We depart Keswick at 8 am by minibus and travel to the start of the challenge in Wasdale. We aim to start at around 9 am on the first of the 3 peaks, Scafell Pike.
The ascent of Scafell Pike takes around 2 hours. We then descend into Borrowdale where we meet up with the support vehicle at around 13.00.
As well as providing refreshments in the form of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and cup a soups, your spare clothes and food can also be left with the support vehicle as it meets with us throughout the challenge.
We then travel by minibus to our second mountain Skiddaw, the drive is around 20 minutes and we are typically setting out up the mountain by 13.30.
The ascent and descent takes around 3.5 hours. The support vehicle is waiting for us again when we complete our descent and we jump on board for the 10 minute drive through the valley to our 3rd mountain Helvellyn. The last of our peaks is typically completed in around 4 hours and we arrive back down in the valley just before (or sometimes just after!) dark. We then travel back to Keswick arriving at around 22.00.
Our guides will be with you throughout the challenge and we will be in contact with our support vehicle.
Canoes and mountain bikes can also be used to link the 3 peaks, however it is then attempted over a 24 hour (non-stop) period rather than 12 hours.
