The challenge takes place in the Lake District National Park.
The route is 30 miles across the most rugged and spectacular mountains in the country, taking in 24 major peaks along the way including classics such as Scafell Pike (England’s highest mountain), Great Gable and Helvellyn.
The aim is to complete the route over 2 days in as fast a time as possible. Typically between 13-17 hours for day 1 taking in 10 peaks along a route of 17 miles, and 7-12 hours on day 2 taking in 14 peaks along a route of 14 miles.
Typically teams stay in or near Keswick for the night before, during and after the challenge. There are various accommodation options available in and around the town from bunk house / hostel – 5 star hotels. We collect you from your accommodation and transport you to the start, it is always good to be away early and we encourage groups to start by 8 am at the latest. Our mountain leaders are with you throughout the event, guiding and supporting you all the way. All of our staff have excellent local knowledge being based in the area themselves. The route does vary a little depending on the particular leader as they all think they know the best / quickest way! Our support vehicle is also on hand in case it is needed and carries spare clothing, food and equipment. It will be there to transport you back to Keswick after each leg of the challenge is complete, and can also be used if anyone needs to drop out at any point.
